"Daniel's Audio Diaries" sounds interesting (as does the WFMU broadcast, but all of us probably have that by now [and if you don't, WFMU streams it!]) - I wish there had been more music, though maybe that's a money thing and they didn't want to go there for that reason.

I guess what I'm vaguely trying to say is that the one thing the documentary really lacked is a focus on Daniel's music (as opposed to his life story) - most of the songs in the documentary were incomplete. It would have been nice to see the MTV appearance complete, for instance - although maybe that's under deleted scenes or something...

In any case, I'm happy to see the film come out, as the DVD will surely introduce even more people to Daniel's music smiley

Got the DVD yesterday, the UK release, which I imagine will be the same, in terms of extras, as the release in other countries. No sign of "Daniel's Audio Diaries", which is a real shame as that was the item I was most amped about. The deleted scenes are interesting, Dan's home movies are great, the Laurie & Daniel reunion is sweet & nice to be able to watch (if a little voyeuristic at times - hope they got some time together away from the very close camera), the WFMU session is pretty superfluous, as D. Sulpy says, having been widely circulated, the director's audio commentary will probably remain unheard by me in its entirety, as is every other DVD director's audio commentary I own (does anyone listen to these things?). Overall I'm pretty disappointed, I was really hoping for more from the DVD release, at least a chunk of that great concert footage they edited down for the film. Still, great to have the film on DVD.
