Was just wondering if anybody knows of a release date for The devil and Daniel Johnston....i want to get a copy so i can lend it to people and spread the word  grin

The "outakes" in the special features department is hilarious. 15 minutes of Daniel spilling Mountain Dew on himself in slow motion set to music from Mozart's "Magic Flute." cheesy

Please could you give us any more information you have on the DVD extras - is there uncut live footage/commentry/more outakes and interviews or a making of type mini documentry?
Would love this DVD to be granted a rich selection to make it the perfect package.

Hey folks, have been away for a while and am back ...

This just in about the UK release which will be region 2 I guess. Although I'd imagine that the US dvd may have more on it in the way of extras (?)

anyway I have some catching up to do , haven't even bought Lost and Found yet (next payday) , but some great news that Welcome to my World seems to be getting great distribution in the uk , even saw it in 'HMV' (big uk chain) , in my hometown of Swansea. Very cool indeed...

I went to a screening followed by a q & a session with the director.  He claimed that there is footage of Daniel and Laurie meeting during the 2005 SXSW, that will be featured in the DVD release.  Supposedly, Daniel repeatedly kisses Laurie, and asks her to marry him numerous times. 

I can't wait for it to come out so I can purchase it along with the Band That Would Be King.

I saw it back in June. Sadly, I was one of two people seeing it. The other guy obviously didn't know why he was in the theatre watching it. But he stayed anyways.

I still haven't heard anything "official" but the date I'm seeing is September 19.
