Good job Gina!
What does the inscription say on the Print? I hope he had a good time! In that one pic with the glasses Dan looks like a "Smooth Smoothie" lost some weight! I got my thank you card and it was really cool! I love the fact that Daniel is doing good and is happy! It means alot to me. I am working on a little package for him myself to send him. Give me more details of the event!

Hi wickedwill smiley

The inscription reads, "Congratulations on your new house, Dan!
With our BEST WISHES, Your 'FAN-FORUM'  3/2006"

Glad you liked your thank you note - I told him you went by 'wickedwill.'  FYI, yours is the only thank you with a fan-forum ID on it smiley

The pic with the sunglasses was fun to take - he was wearing mine! smiley - Maui Jim's...

I told him I thought he'd look good in them and that I could show him the pic after taking it, since I have a digital camera that allows me to 'review' pics...he liked it, too, and said, "Maybe I can use that pic sometime"...I told him I'd get it printed out for him...so, maybe we'll see it on something sometime?

The trip itself was loads of fun for Dan and I both - it was really just mainly normal friends visiting stuff... sharing our personal lives, watching movies, going out to eat, food shopping and cooking, visiting his folks next door...and then there was some time spent playing around on hs guitar, seeing artwork he was working on (and declining to take any!)....listening in to an interview with him and Ron English (a conference call) and buying a piano...haha...OK, so it wasn't all 'normal,' but it sure seemed that way, since we have become good friends over time.

Dan is looking good, as you can see, and working on his music again...He played a few tunes for me on his guitar that are 'in the works,' to bounce them off me - loved 'em, of course...

I missed him last night, after arriving back in Northern Cal - wish I lived closer, to be able to hang out more with him.
I told him that when he gets a phone in his house, I will be checking in on him regularly.

Guess that's about all 'to report'....

gina, thanks so much for organizing the gift stuff ! i got my thank-you note yesterday & it was a total and wonderful surprise!! dan looks very cute in the pix. thanks again for sharing

Hi, All -

Arrived back from my Texas trip a few hours ago -

Dan LOVED the gifts!, especially the Lennon photo signed print!
I took pics -  and will try to post them soon -

Also, it was Dan's idea to draw each of you 'a little drawing' in ink on the front of your 'thank you' note...
I didn't even have to ask!
FYI, everyone's pic is unique.

Thanks, again, for having chipped in on something special that Dan will enjoy 'forever'   -

thank you Gina for all you've done and for your report !
just one more question: how is the house ?

Hi Raph smiley

The house is GREAT! MUCH bigger than I imagined it would be -
The kitchen even has 'an island' in it!

There are 2 bedrooms plus his music/art room, and 2 and 1/2 baths!, plus a back porch, which I believe was supposed to be for hangin' out on to smoke cigs (BTW, wicked -  he smokes in the living room, kitchen, and 'art/music room')....Anyway, the back porch is roomy and has 2 ceiling fans, just like his folks' house does smiley

His house also has central ac and heat, and extra celing fans fixtures throughout...all a far cry from his parents' garage, where he used to work on his music no matter what the temps/humidity!

Dan's family did a great job on it.

While I was there one eve, his sis Cindy (the one not in the movie) stopped in with some throw rugs for Dan, and discussed getting a nice area rug for his living room - seems everyone in the family pitches in where his welfare is concerned...all of his family (except his Mom now, since she is disabled from her recent fall and from Parkinson's) seem to be involved in meeting his daily care/weekly needs...they truly love him....he is in excellent hands!

Thanks for the question -

We recieved our thank you note yesterday and it was super neat.

The photos are cute, Daniel looks great. He must have lost 50 pounds!

Thanks for the delivery Gina. We still have that turntable sitting around here so whenever Daniel wants it it's his. We've actually got a couple he can choose from now.

-D

Glad you liked the note and pics!

About the turntable - you can contact 'rejected' on here - his older bro - to see if he can arrange that -

Hope you are doing well, Ducky - Gina

COOL smiley

Hey...did anyone notice the special "Joe" stamps I bought? I am laughing right now, as I just realized that no one has mentioned those...ha ha... Dan thought they were cool - When I showed them to him, I asked him about the "Joe" thing - you know...why "Joe, the  boxer?"...He said "Joe" represents just a common guy...'a regular joe' type thing...

...just thought to share that extra tidbit -

Anyway...

Thanks for the thanks...on the board and off -  Glad you giftors are pleased smiley It was a lot of fun for Dan, and for me, too!

Thanks Gina, I just received my thank you card today.  Pretty cool.  It was nice to get something good in the mail, after staying home sick all week and receiving nothing but junk.  I was hoping it would be personalized though.

Sorry to hear about your illness - hope you'll be OK!

About 'the personalization' -  he did what he wanted with each.

I looked at all of them before taping them closed, and saw that the only thank you with anyone's name was Jordy's - and Dan spelled it "Geordie" or something like that wink - he made it part of the drawing...

...and the only other one with a fan forum name on the side with the drawing, as I mentioned, was 'wickedwill'...

Actually, I was VERY surprised that Dan wanted to take the time to draw everyone a unique drawing! Because I know him, and I saw that he is still weak from his recent illness, it was truly GREAT of him to do those drawings. Altho he looks great in the pics, he struggles still...

I just got off the phone with his Dad, and heard that Dan had to use crutches these past few days...he really isn't 'completely' back in the saddle, medically...So, as I said, I was THRILLED that he chose to sit and draw for 'the giftors' - he was very appreciative.

Best wishes,
Gina

Yea I am sick as a dog with some kind of flu but it will go away and next week I'm sure I'll be healthy again.  Unfortunately I will probably still be an ingrate.  It is perhaps a lifelong condition I can only try to recover from.  wink

I hope all is well with Dan.

Thanks again Gina.

Sweet and funny reply, Poon - thanks!

Gina -

PS - Did you see my question to you on the thread about your artwork? I see there is no reply from you on that one, yet -

Much appreciation to you, Gina, and to Dan for the creative and unexpected "Thank-You" note. I am glad he liked the print so much. I know alot of work went into the gift idea, but I'm sure it was worth it, if only for Daniel to have a visual reminder that HIS hard work and vision is enjoyed and appreciated by many.

One more day until spring. Time to go look for frogs.
