Thanks for the info re: Death of Satan. I had no idea this was out. It feels like we have been waiting so long for this. I ordered a copy straight away. Shame it couldn't have happened sooner. Bless you Jason and the Nightmares and Munster Records.

Let's see if I have the whole Danny and the Nightmares discog correct...

First, there was the self-titled debut 1999 CD, produced by Jason Nightmare and
self-issued on Eternal Yip Eye, featuring the following tracks:

1 World Without Rock and Roll
 2 Ta Da
 3 No Escape From Love
 4 Why Die
 5 Baby Back
 6 Born to Rock
 7 I Killed Satan
 8 Love is for Losers
 9 Bad Cat In Town
 10 Lonely Heartbreak
 11 Love is a Ghost
12 Adventures of God as a Young Boy
 13 Wild Thing
14 Rat Race of the Dead
 15 Long Ago Far Away

The zine Cool Beans #14 came with a free compilation CD including the Nightmares performing "Human Cannonball" by the Butthole Surfers. When Daniel sent a batch of additional demos to the zine’s staff, they apparently “misinterpreted” this gesture as permission to release and sell a new Nightmares CD of their own; the result was the unauthorized  2002 EP The End Is Near Again. Cuts on this one include:

1 Natzi
2 (untitled)
3 The Séance
4 Return of the Butthole Surfers

The 2nd full-length album, Freak Brain, was again produced by Jason and came out in 2005 on Sympathy For The Record Industry. Tracks include:

 1 haunted house
 2 the lord loves you
 3 twilight zone love
 4 freak brain
 5 jesus boy
 6 see satan die
 7 lucifer tonite
 8 happy valentines day
 9 souvenir
 10 soldier
 11 pretend you're dead
12 hell chick of rock n roll

. In 2007 a 7" single was released in Spain on Munster Records, which was "recorded by God Knows Who At God Knows Where", featuring the cuts:

1 Death of Satan
2 Monster Mash

(Pix of DoS 7": http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=1426064)

Demos for the full-length Death of Satan also were distributed privately among friends of the band members.

Finally (not including the new album being discussed here), there’s a brand-new promo-only CD on Sinedin Music (apparently connected with Munster) which is called ¡La fiesta es para todos! and includes the Nightmares track “Satan Don’t Care”.

Just for the record (no pun intended) here's some excerpts from private messages I got from Jason Nightmare [aka "ghost jr."] between May 2008 and November 2009 about the Death of Satan album. I've cut out some potentially controversial portions of his writings, since Jason is no longer here to say whether or not he would want me to share those particular comments:

> i've always thought you cool, ken. afterall, you did give us a half ass decent review for
> [the first Danny & the Nightmares CD], one of the ****tiest albums ever made.

> regarding [Death of Satan], i think [Daniel's management?] wants to "self
> release" it,  which none of us are too thrilled about. Danny wanted Alternative
> Tentacles
, who [we sent] demos and stuff and now [are] just sort of stringing them
> along, which is unfortunate. Jello Biafra's interested in releasing it. I just don't
> know how interested I am in having him release it.

> [There was also a] 7'' that was released on Munster Records last year.
> I have a ****-load of them left collecting dust here.

> let's talk about Hitler with the public,

They laughed when I sat down at the piano.
They didn't think that I could play.
But their laughter turned to amazement,
When I got back up and carried it away...

I have a 7" with these tracks, with a giraffe smoking and other animals on the cover.

1 Natzi
2 (untitled)
3 The Séance
4 Return of the Butthole Surfers

Also "The End is Near Again" is the cd ep but with 7 songs:

1. Natzi
2. Untitled
3. Beware
4. If You Think You've Gone Too Far
5. Double Bummer
6. Lost Hero of Rock n Roll
7. Love Others As You Love Yourself

Both on Cool Beans.

I would like a t-shirt with the front cover of "Death of Satan".

I saw a copy in a local record store the other day, so it's officially out.
And, yeah, it does have a cool cover.

This was in the same store where I saw the CD in the metal box entitled The Story of an Artist. It was NOT the 6-CD set, but a single disc from I think it was 2008, including around a dozen songs (they all seem to be previously released material) and an interview track. Inside it has a card indicating this was the regular edition, and there also was a limited edition of 68 (?) copies with an autographed print included.

I can't find any reference to this CD online. Anyone know what's up with it?

PS: I have no fresh news about if/when the December Blues CD will ever come out, but Rhythm Rats guitarist Will Indian is waiting for a liver transplant (For details go here: http://willindian.wordpress.com/). I sent him a note suggesting he look into releasing the album as a benefit along the lines of this one:

You can get the album here, or at Amazon -

Crazy - every few years I would get curious about this album, and tonight I learned thanks to this board it's actually been released in the last couple of weeks.  Needless to say, I ordered a copy (on vinyl).  Really looking forward to getting this.  Been curious about it for a long time now.  RIP Jason - hope some of the money goes to his family.
