Just to confirm, the newly announced Austin Daniel gigs in March are not the same as the BIG event that was mentioned for May or June?
It would of been nice to see some detail of Daniel's recent performance at Room 710 if anyone from the board attended.

The BIG event isn't really nailed down, but there are several reasons it will likely occur - the biggest reason being the Tribute album, but also the "grand opening" of the restaurant (perhaps - as this doesn't have to be "when" it opens) and capitalizing on the mural incident.

By the way, I walked by the resaurant last night, and it indeed is open.

I've gotta tell you guys a great story about Daniel and a DIFFERENT mural sometime...

They laughed when I sat down at the piano.
They didn't think that I could play.
But their laughter turned to amazement,
When I got back up and carried it away...

Daniel ate at Baja Fresh last week and told me "it was like McDonald's". I think he meant that as a compliment.

These things really need to be finalized much more in advance, but as it stands, they are attempting to arrange the "big event" in Austin at the mural site for Friday or Saturday, May 21 or 22nd.

It will likely include a ceremonial repair of the mural with a possible guest appearance from the Tribute CD, and a show at a local venue.

This should be nailed down (or delayed further) this week.

Are there any plans for a future european tour like the one last year?
I think Daniel got alot of new fans over here.

I'd LOVE for him to do another European tour!!   The 3+ weeks of last summer turned out pretty good, but Daniel doesn't like to be gone that long.

If this is going to happen, it will probably become final by early June.   But so far, there are no plans.

There are "plans" to develope a weekend trip to the California Bay area, and a separate to the NW U.S.A.
