Really? Matt Groening said from the start that he was gonna try to work a Daniel song into Futurama -- I guess he FINALLY managed to get around to it!!!

My roommate just told me that the CURRENT network ran an entire segment on Daniel in their Current Tonight program last night. Since they run the same stuff into the ground, I'm hoping to catch a rerun on the DVR.

HA I thought that was a Daniel Johnston song!That movie was on comdey channel not to long ago so I watched it and hear that song and said to myself "damn that song sounds familiar".

Anyways at the end of the movie "the sasquatch dumpling gang" they play a cover version of the song "Go"

Well i was actually REALLY REALLY surprised when i was watching the movie "kids" and they played daniel johnstons "casper the friendly ghost"

The movie... made me feel awkward.
and the song is amazing... but they played it at a scene where people where beating the crap out of this kid...soooo

You did notice that the producers also had Daniel write and record a NEW song for the movie, right? It's also called "Casper" but in that case it was about the character in the movie, not the friendly ghost. Both are on the soundtrack CD, but the version of "CtFG" is the same as the classic album version, so only the other one was "new" material.

well hey thanks "notdaniel" cus I know what "ItsHardToFindAFriend" is talking bout so its nice to have it cleared up! Honestly I never realised it was a different version :Q) but then again when I first saw kids I never heard of Daniel Johnston so Im only going by memory! Damnit I wish I heard of Daniel Johnston sooner cus his music really means alot to me!
