Three cheers to Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglová, also known as the Swell Season, for inviting Daniel to perform on Austin City Limits with them tonight.

With Hansard's band, the Frames, backing them up - they performed Daniel's song "Life In Vain" from the 1994 FUN album and it was great. As soon as Hansard introduced him, the crowd jumped to their feet and gave him a warm welcome.
Looking a bit disheveled - as usual - Daniel used a cheat sheet to help him remember the words, but he didn't miss a beat and did an awesome job on the song.

The crowd loved it and so did I. If you didn't see it, try to find a replay on Public Television. Hopefully, someone will post the performance on YouTube.

But "Some Things Last A Long Time"...

PS: I never can run across it at an appropriate time for its own post, but take note that one of the higher satellite channels (LINK-TV, I think it is) has been running a documentary on Ron English called "POPaganda" every few weeks or so. There's a good five or ten minute segment on Ron's associations with Daniel about a half-hour into it, during which Daniel even performs his track from the "Revelations 2000" album, "Tomorrow's Child".

They laughed when I sat down at the piano.
They didn't think that I could play.
But their laughter turned to amazement,
When I got back up and carried it away...
