It's been pointed out to me that the use of the quote was likely the fault of Sony Pictures and was out of the filmmakers' hands.
Thought I oughtta clear that up.
Or if your "What?!?" was directed towards the line about them having the video for years, they had a lot of people's precious and rare Daniel stuff for a long time, over the course of creating and editing a feature-length film. Everything was carefully catalogued and stored, and was returned safely once the film was completed, of course.
