i dont know man dick kinda seem like a di**.
 well at least in the movie he did kicking him out,
telling him his art will never go anywhere .
allot of the time it seems the only people that where,
believing in him where fans and that guy from stress.
 so i dont think that guy made it up for the fun of it or to cause drama.

Very odd article. I question anything coming from the Huffington Post to begin with, but this guy was just out there.

I quote "The glare of lights cause Daniel to repeatedly blink as he instinctively avoids eye contact with these creatures who dwell in the real world."  Oh, ummm okay. I wonder how he came to that conclusion, and was certain enough to feel responsible about printing it as fact... That sums up my opinion of this extremely vindictive anti-semiic "writer".

Jeez, guys, surely we've all seen worse things written about Daniel & company... and we'll see even worse ones in the future! This article didn't seem particularly vindictive to me, though it certainly wasn't a puff piece either. (Compare it to that New York Times embarrassment that seemed to be specifically formulated to escalate a war between different "factions" among those who collect & sell Dan's artwork!)

The writer emphasized how the woman's accent reminded him of home, indicating he was doing a "I'm one of these people so I can make fun of them" schtick - like an Afro-Amo freely using the word "n*gga".

Also, I think you're reading things into the quip about Mrs. Johnston - a white-haired, light-skinned sleepwalker in a white nightgown certainly makes for apt ghost references (not to mention that ghosts are a significant part of the Johnston mythos).

I think some of you are being somewhat knee-jerk defensive and assuming without adequate evidence that the writer was implying that she's old and decrepit. I think he was simply looking for a metaphor to pep up the piece.

Mind you, I could be wrong, but I'd have to see a few more pieces from the guy's archives to say for certain either way...

I was an entertainment journalist by trade for 15 years, and I know exactly what you're talking about. I refused to write from that angle, though -- which is probably a large factor in why I am currently unemployed.

Honestly, apart from that and the whole "Ron English is God" focus of the book, there's a lot of good in there. I just don't understand how that BS got left in after I made a point of correcting their information. And now, of course, it REALLY freaks me out to discover that Jeff F. and Henry have been unwittingly spreading that heinous line of crap, since they had my VHS tape of the show --  for three years or so!!! (Actually, I'd always assumed that they didn't ever watch it, since the movie pretty much skips over that time period altogether...)
