Hey, kids! Just a little spooky warning that the Not Daniel Johnston track "What the Devil (Is Going On?)" is set to appear on a Halloween compilation coming up very soon! It tells the tale of a small-town redneck checking out the big scary old house on the edge of town -- but what he thinks is a hot party is actually a Satanic cult meeting!
I wrote the tune and provide vocals & SFX, Lucien Stavenhagen plays Eugene Chadbourne-style guitar lix, and mister Daniel Johnston himself provides incredibly eerie haunted piano! We recorded this gem back in 1987 for my very limited homemade cassette "Yum! Gyp Music!" so it has been heard by very few people so far! Here's a link to the project:
