Please could somebody put up the link to the article which was about the producers of the film suprising Daniel Johnston by bringing out Laurie Allen?
 I think it happened at one of the films premieres, ive looked through the web but can't find but I do remember reading it on this site around that time.

not cool at all!  I was cringing while watching.  It would have been a little more acceptible if they would have saved the reunion for the after party.  Doing it on stage like that was horrible!  especially knowing all the producers know about daniel.

   Coming from a director who was supposed to have taken such a great interest in Daniel and his well being that stunt at the screening and the subsequent filming of Daniel reuniting with Laure was totally exploitive. I felt it had a "This is gonna be GREAT for the bonus footage on the DVD" feel all over it. Extremely tacky and not taking Daniel's interests or feelings into consideration at all.

I'm not sure i agree with everybody on this one, i mean daniel has been documenting his life since forever, what with personal recordings of his mother telling him off and other fights he's had with people, and he's able to share these personal moments by putting them between songs on his albums, it would seem only natural to document the best day of his life as daniel put it himself. Although it was a little cringing it was still beautiful and special to watch. Daniel wants to share his life with the world.

What bothered me about it was the fact that she looked VERY uncomfortable, esp. towards the end when they went inside.

Still haven't watched the meeting/reunion, not sure if I ever will, although having said that I had the DVD of Irreversible for 6 months before watching ..

(wow it's been a long time away from here! still spreading the word on Daniel though.)
