Being that I am originally from New Cumberland and I lived about a mile from Daniel I think I can shed some insight here...
WE HATED IT!
I know Daniel still has family in the Chester area. Very nice people as well.
I can tell you the only place in the tri-state area that Daniel ever mentions is Eides comic book and record store in Pittsburgh. I've spent hours in there with him. He says it is the best comic book store in the world. And it is a great place. Go visit it if you have a chance. I can provide directions if your interested.

As far as I know Daniel uses no illegal substances. Believe me, I have had to carry his meds around for a few days and what he takes by prescription from doctors is quite enough. Although I can tell you he smokes Winstons and that may be what you saw in the documentary. I think I still have a pack in my kitchen junk drawer from when he was here a few years ago.

Only someone with no knowledge of te mental healt field would dare to call Daniel a "Retard". Besides being an antiquated term it is so totally off the mark. You really need to enlighten yourself Lana. Tere are a lot of brilliant people out there suffering from mental illness ( believe me I know from my own soul) who have so much genius inside. When it is allowed to emerge, which we are lucky enough to se a lot of form Daniel, the world gasps in awe. At least the enlightened people. Peace
Daniel is no retard. Not by a long shot. I believe he would score very high in the Stanford test if given to him. Like I have said, I knew him before all of this took place. He is very bright.

I only heard of this, and never tried it myself, but apparently you can put your keyboard through a dishwasher, on the lowest setting (not pot scrubber) and run it through a cycle. That should get rid of years of gunk or crumbs or whatever. But please don't sue me if you try it and all you get is a ruined keyboard!
Do not try this at home! A vacuum cleaner with a hose and brush works quite nicely. Also a little Armor All sprayed on a rag gives your keyboards that brand new appearance. It harms no plastics or metals and really does a good job of getting stains off of the keys.

Hello all! Been a while since I have visited but busy is an understatement in my world right now. Anyway, I have just finished my solo album called Separation. On this album is a track called "At This Time". I wrote this song about Daniel in late 1989 and finally got it recorded last year. If you would like to hear it I invite you to visit myspace page at: www.myspace.com/ondafritzmusicI do recommend that you use Internet Explorer to visit because some other browsers have had a problem getting the page to display. I have someone working on it. Thanks! Kevin Still

I thought this was pretty cool. Today a long-time patient, who just so happens to be the Editor of our County's weekly newspaper, was in the chair today and I told him about Danny and the new movie. He was waaaay interested and promised to do a featurette once I can get him some press releases. Now how cool is that? 8-)Danny will get some good press from his old home here in Hancock County, West Virginia. Thats very nice of Hugh!

I just got off the phone with Bill, Mabel and Danny and had a wonderful chat. I was telling Bill that the person I went to the movie with freaked when they ran the home movie when Danny is dressed up like Mable. Seems this lifelong friend of Danny's was the one running the camera for it. And for the one scene that you see Danny and Mable's arm, that was the friends arm and Mabel was running the camera. Now how cool is that? Hi Mike!
