I'm trying to learn a few chords on the piano, does anyone know the chords to , ('The Wedding')
from lost recordings, disc 2 I believe, sure would help, thanks


Come to think of it, cant really find any of those songs huh? I only looked for 4 or 5, Don't the Daniel Johnston Institute know that they can get those chords down in book form, and people will buy it. I would. If you can provide me with some of those chords, which sound kind of basic, That sure would be great. ... That's just my luck, getting some songs in my head, figuring on learning, and can't find the chords!

Yea I wonder about that also. People! I don't know about 'em. I always hear about Daniel's mental condition and what-not, the only thing that comes to my mind when I actually entertain the thought of Daniel Johnston's mental condition, is, "Wow, what a ****ing genius!" ...... Sorry mom, I didn't mean to cuss.....
.....Well, I just got my box set! It came in a big box, PACKED in air balloons....... I am so glad that whoever packed this, did so in such a way. Because it was hard for me to let go of my hundred bucks that I saved.
I knew my vacation was coming up, but I ordered it and am proud of the fact that I did so.
It is the single-most GREATEST musical collection that I have ever purchased!!! I got it today, it's a Thursday, and also the first day of my vacation. What a treat!
If you haven't ordered this yet, you need to. You will be nothing less than pleased.

Hey folks, I don't mean to rehash the same ole' comments that I utter, but I speak it as it comes to me.
I was basically at the point where my mind couldn't be blown any further. I honestly figured, "Hey! This is the peak of all this right here!" I've been listening to about 200 Daniel Johnston Tunes, a day, usually twice, some songs, seven or eight times, daily,....... my point is, I have been feeling with heartfelt certainty, that my little ole' mind could not be blown too much further. I mean, 200 songs !!! ON MY TOP TEN FAVORITES, PLAYLIST !!!..................
But I have been listening to 1983 Lost Recordings Volume 2.
And it is different than most of my other favorites.........Not sure why;
Well, enough rambling,
This album is so incredible, I'm at a loss of words......
There's something different about this album.........
There IS something magical about it !!!!!!!!
I've never been starstruck before. Not even as a youngster, but I am starstruck over Daniel Johnston !!!

You know, this whole Daniel Johnston experience that I have been
going through for over seven months now, is really mind shifting.
On an artistic level, he so fascinates me, and breathes life into every creative vessel within me.
When I first started listening to his music, going through the archives, my ears weren't used to listening to music recorded like that, except for my own, half assed attempts at it. And besides that, I didn't start out 'liking' every song. In fact, initially, I liked a very low number of them. But the ones that I did like, were my    
all-time favorites. But as time went on, and I back tracked, listening
to those songs again, I am now at a level, where I love every one of
them. And still, I am hearing new songs, as if, I had never heard it
before! And THIS is what motivated this letter. I was just now listening
to More Songs Of Pain, and heard You Put My Love Out The Door, !!!
That is such a cool song!
Is that a Daniel Johnston original or is it a cover?
I just can't believe that that one got away from me for so long !!!

Well I can't wait for a reply any longer! I'm going to go ahead and order it.

Listen, seriously, I've got a little bit of money saved, enough to get this. I already have a lot of his songs. Most, as far as I can tell. But I do hope I'm wrong. I hope I'm dead wrong....... But my problem is this :  I have the money. But I am so poor right now......... I desperately would like to have this. Is there much of a difference in the way these songs are presented? Or is it just an AWESOME collection of Daniel Johnston's Music?

Overcoming obstacles.
I know that's what life is about. I've heard it ever since I can remember. Other people can overcome
big obstacles in life, "Why is it so difficult for me?" I ask myself sometimes.
I've had a serious obstacle for several months now, about seven months actually. Those around me have
definitely noticed. My obstacle has become a nuisance for some of them.
Well in the previous months, I would go to Walmart and stock shelves all night, and then come home
and listen to Daniel's music for about the next eight or ten hours, before calling it a day, and
going to sleep. It got to the point where, I wasn't mowing my lawn. Or cleaning my room. Or fixing my
bicycle. Or fixing the dishwashing machine, or fixing the porch, or looking for a part time job, or giving my VHS tapes to charity....

the list goes on, believe it or not. A real obstacle in deed!
But I have now overcome my barriers!
It was real easy actually. I don't know why I didn't think about it before!
I bought an mp3 player, and loaded it down with 189 of my favorite Daniel Johnston Top Ten Hits !!!
I listen to it all night. It NEVER GETS OLD!!! I have once again, freed my daytime hours to a slightly higher level of productivity.
I'm becoming psychologically dependant on those tunes. But my point is, I have overcome my barriers!
And you too can overcome your barriers, if you have any. Dont give up!

Daniel is such a deep and complex character. Every single day I am so blown away by him.
