Title: Order the North American '...Live at the Union Chapel' Now!
Post by: Rob Wheeler on December 07, 2008, 02:53:21 PM
Hi guys,

Adjustable Productions bring you exciting news. The North American release of 'The Angel and Daniel - Live at the Union Chapel' is now available to order from our friends at Kunaki.com. The link to the ordering page can be found by clicking this link:

http://www.adjustableproductions.com/angelanddaniel/NorthAmerica.html (http://www.adjustableproductions.com/angelanddaniel/NorthAmerica.html)

I would ask that fans please take the time to look at the photos and description that appear below that link so that they know what to expect from the product prior to making a purchase.

To celebrate this announcement, tomorrow a new trailer featuring the whole of Daniel's moving performance of 'Go' with James Yorkston and Adem, will been added to the selection of trailers on AngelAndDaniel.com

More about Kunaki.com

Kunaki.com is a 'Manufacture-on-demand' solution. Your disc is not made until you place an order. It plays just the same as the European version, but there are some minor differences in the actual disc and packaging.

This solution, along with the kind accommodating approach of the music license holders and Daniel's management, has allowed us to provide the DVD to fans that a small label such as Adjustable would not otherwise have been able to reach. Kunaki.com will also deliver to many other countries around the World. The North American version is encoded for NTSC playback systems and has no region encoding.

Do not forget, European fans can get hold of the Region 2 DVD from Amazon.co.uk!

Kind Regards,

Just a quick note about availability of the European version of the DVD. At this moment Amazon.co.uk are showing the item as temporarily out of stock. Rest assured, there is more stock on the way. The reason this happened was that Amazon would only take about a fifth of the stock that we felt would satisfy the immediate demand.

This morning I shall be sending out another consignment which should be dispatched to customers tomorrow, well in time for Xmas.

If anybody is concerned that they may not get their disc prior to Xmas, drop me a line on dj@adjustableproductions.com and I shall see what I can do to resolve this.

It's funny you should say that. Last week I had to make a journey on behalf of Santa's elves to the Amazon.co.uk warehouse to drop off some units at the grotto depot that he runs there. I also took some by hand to his helpers at Rough Trade East, the independent record store in London. I am led to believe that Santa's representatives keep it all checked over though.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I thought I would just mention that you can now get the Region 2 PAL version at special prices direct from Adjustable Productions. If you reside within Great Britain, you can get the DVD for just £10.99 including postage & packaging.

If you reside within the European Economic Area, you can get it for just £12.99 including postage and packaging.

The ordering page is at http://www.adjustableproductions.com/angelanddaniel/Europe.html (http://www.adjustableproductions.com/angelanddaniel/Europe.html)

Adjustable can also send to many countries outside of the European Economic Area, so drop me a line on dj@adjustableproductions.com and hopefully we can figure something out.

Cheers!

S'funny how this never struck me before...

First there was the documentary on Daniel Johnston called "The Devil and DJ", and now there's this live DVD called "The Angel and DJ". Well, I was just digging through some old VHS tapes and ran across what was until recently the only full-length video release dedicated to Daniel's predecessor and friend Roky Erickson -- anyone here remember what that was called?

"DEMON ANGEL"!!!

Those of you who are not familiar with London may not be aware that the area of Islington where Daniel played is know as "The Angel".

It was actually one of the cameramen (Chris Faires) who said "What are you calling this DVD then? Surely as it's in Islington, it should be 'The Angel and Daniel Johnston'?". So with it being held in a Church building, and all the Victorian period stained glass imagery we included, it did seem to be apt.

Incidentally, an announcement about the availability of the DVD in Australia and New Zealand shall be next in the next few days.
