High School art class print of fetus

Overview:

This is a Daniel Johnston original hand made PRINT made by Daniel in art class at Oak Glen High School in Hancock County, West Virginia in 1978. The print was made by carving in wood and pressed by hand.

It is on 9 x 12" heavy stock art brown paper and has a stain (as seen in the scan) near the top of unknown origin. The corners and edges are frayed as seen in the scan, but it is otherwise in good condition.

When Daniel saw this print recently he said it was the first of only a few impressions made from this plate. We are currently aware of only one other print made from the plate remaining in existence.

As shown in the scan, the print remained unsigned, but it will be delivered with Daniel's signature.
