Hey,everyone. I am new here. I had heard about Daniel Johnston some time back but had never heard him. I went to a theater in Richmond,Va. last night to see "The Devil and Daniel Johnston." Man was I impressed, especially at his lyrics and art. Great stuff! I already ordered 2 CDs!

Hello G. Thomas and welcome to the world of Daniel Johnston!! How wonderful that you've been introduced to Danny via the film. I'm still waiting to see it here in West Virginia. smiley Looks like I'll need to head to the Harris in Pittsburgh ti catch it.

Which two CDs did you order?

I ordered "Discovered Covered" and "Welcome to my World." I will probably order a couple more in about a month or so. The film is very good, I would highly recommend it.

I can't really say yet. Except for samples most of what I have heard was in the film. I like "Story of an Artist", "Laurie", "Don't Let the Sun go Down on your Grievances." That's just a start, of course.

I can't really explain it, but the songwriting is so fantastic I couldn't believe it. I just went to the movie on the spur of the moment and I don't know what I was expecting but I sure got my money's worth. I came home and got right on the computer doing searches about Daniel and his music. I'm glad to hear suggestions about favorite recordings.
