I heard the news today, oh boy.

Just saw the announcement at Rejected Unknown. I hope things improve soon and Daniel gets to feel better.  Also to friends, family and all who help out on the music and art fronts, good wishes to all.

I spoke to Daniel Thursday night and he said he felt better upon hearing the tour had been canceled.  He has been adamant all year about not wanting to tour and according to him was misled with regard to the length of the tour and as the dates approached he was becoming more and more depressed.  While I hate to hear about Daniel feeling depressed it was good to see him stand up for himself. If an artist of his stature doesn't want to tour nobody has the right to make him.

Dang! Dan called and left a message on my voicemail last week, and I never got around to calling him back (like a cheery phone call from me would've turned all this around, right!) Well, I thought it was too late, but I guess I better give him a ring in the morning... well, afternoon, anyhow.

Yep, it wasn't that long ago that he told me he didn't think he'd be leaving Texas this summer. Guess he meant it!

Hey, watch it! There'll be no more pushin' Joe around!

Seriously, I just called Dan and he seems quite chipper. Quite ready to continue drawing and writing and whatever, as long as he doesn't have to be hauled across the globe to do it.

I'll probably go out there next weekend, try to help out with a particular secret project we've been planning for awhile.

I hope daniel will get better soon.

I can't understand why "someone" planned him to tour if he don't want.
If not, i would not have been so pleased to see him friday and now so disapointed.

It's a shame, because touring would be good for Dan's career, particularly with the release of the documentary, but obviously his health comes first.

I join the rest of you, of course, in wishing him well... wherever he is smiley.

Quote
"Daniel has been experiencing mood swings in the last few weeks unlike any he can recall for years. The medical attention this requires only would be delayed if Daniel left for Europe...This has far reaching and regrettable consequences for Daniel and his fans, and the decision was only made with great consternation."
Please know that Daniel is in our thoughts and prayers, as is his family.
The important thing always is that Daniel receives the care, love and support he needs during and following these episodes. No one, especially his fans, would want Daniel to risk his well being for a tour or performance.

To Daniel's Family- Please keep us informed, if possible, of his progress, and may our best wishes for his return to optimal health be gently conveyed.
