Ron English, I think...

But seriously, I just got an email from Mick Gray, inker of Alan Moore's brilliant "Promethea" series and future Batman artist, and he says Daniel asked him once to ink some DJ pencil works, but they never got back together on it. I've got some Dan originals I could send him copies of,
but they're already done in ink - maybe he'll do something with them (like Kevin Smith says, inkers are just tracers anyway!)

Any relatives wanna get some pencils to Mr. Gray? Contact me. And while you're at it, I've been trying for YEARS to get the full-length "Dead Lovers Tristed Heart" illustrated poetry novel in front of a publisher. It's great to know it's now locked up so it can't be lost, but it sucks that it's locked up and can't be found!?! (Does that make sense to anyone?)

Matt Groening wants Dan to do comics for the Bongo line but he hasn't responded, Marvel is apparently aware of his Captain America drawings but to my knowledge still haven't asked for a cover or anything, and Mark Evanier, who was doing a Cap tribute book, never responded to my suggestions involveing Dan. Maybe DC Comics could be his big breakthrough (aside from that Fine Art silliness - Dan would rather be Jack Kirby than Roy Lichtensceiss any day).

But hey, didn't mean to take over this discussion - someone answer the coloring question, wouldja?!?

They laughed when I sat down at the piano.
They didn't think that I could play.
But their laughter turned to amazement,
When I got back up and carried it away...

The contest has left us with something of a delimna, but we'll make good of it.

That's not the real delay, actually - the delay is because we are being overwhelmed by everything we're trying to accomplish (see posts asking for help!).

The contest was intended to get art into the hands of fans who might otherwise never buy it, but the big collectors went after it big time.   We'll have to deliver on our promises but the delay was looking for a way to meet both goals.  Sadly, the art isn't easy to come by - if I had my way, everyone who submitted something should get some of Daniel's art.

Pascal,

The neglect to this is all my fault - and I apologize - the problem is a simple one which continues to evade getting taken care of - the posters require shipping tubes which I am out of - that's easily solved, of course, but that implies I REMEMBER to do this when I'm someplace that sells them.

Hang in there!   It will get done.
