"the blacktailed prairie dog has a display called the "Jump-Yip," which involves throwing the forepaws into the air, pointing the nose straight up, and emitting an abrupt two-part vocalization.  The Jump-Yip seems to mean "I'm trying to decide whether to run away or do something else that might be more important to me."

I always thought it was somewhat inspired by the actual sounds coming from Daniel's playing of the Chord Organ (Yip! Jump!) and the great American songwriter ("Over the Rainbow," "Brother can you spare a dime?", etc.) Earl "Yip" Harburg:
