Sure, why not.
As Bono says, "All Art is Praise."

As Bono says, "All Art is Praise."

Yeah, but he thinks it's praise for HIM!!!

They laughed when I sat down at the piano.
They didn't think that I could play.
But their laughter turned to amazement,
When I got back up and carried it away...

Ha!

True Bono story:

He's in Philadelphia, on the Elevation Tour I believe. Without saying a word, he begins to clap his hands, slowly, like every 3 seconds or so. He just stares at the audience without expression, and claps very deliberately, until little by little, the arena begins to clap along to the same slow steady beat. It continues awhile, with everyone perhaps expecting him to sing something, or have the band kick in to the clap track beat. Finally, Bono steps up to the microphone and says,"Everytime I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies."

"Then stop clapping your hands!" someone near the stage yells out.

Laugher fills the air. Bono's point of the threat of AIDS and Poverty and Hunger in the Third World completely missed.

But perhaps another point has replaced it:
Don't take yourself too seriously.

Really. You'd think the abject embarrassment of John Lennon's "Sometime In New York City" ALONE would have made it clear to these pinheads that social activism and rock 'n' roll don't mix - but, nah - I guess their skewed sense of self-importance trumps all.  cheesy
