"Merry Christmas" is my absolute favorite. "Golly Gee" "Held The Hand" "Laura Hadley" are all amazing. There's a thread in Album Chat somewhere I think. You can order the cassette from Stress.

The circumstances surrounding the release were that Sonic Youth was coming to town and I needed a new tape to give them. By 1988 they had already been incredibly helpful for a couple of years and some of the previous tape releases had been timed to coincide with the next time they came to Austin. That probably sounds a little crazy today but at the time it made perfect sense. Daniel wasn't feeling very well that winter so I compiled it and he helped with the sequencing and approved of the final product. It was then given away to supporters for a month or two as a combination Christmas gift/thank you present.
