At last got my copy in the post today, took a while to get to me in Ireland. i was supposed to do 2 essays due on monday this weekend for college but looks like il be occupied in the world of daniel johnston instead, Life is about prioritizing! Ive never really discovered any musician in any way really similiar to DJ.
when i first heard his music it blew my mind because i'd just never heard anything like it before.

-Does anybody know of any musician in any way similiar to DJ
that is any artist who's music has some of these characteristics :

 -lo-fi recorded
 -high pitched voice
 -experimental with instruments
 -an indepth and intriguing personality
 -a childlike quality to his voice and lyrics

 - suffers from a mental dissorder

 - extremely personal lyrics

is my favourite dj song,
Its too hard to explain why it is so wonderful.
It just hits the spot and sends me into a tearful mood everytime,
The lyrics are about optimism about life in times of struggle, this very easy for me to relate.
his shrilling high pitch chorus resonates within me.
I cant understand why this isnt everybodys favourite, but hey thats life.

I love Daniel Johnston, i wish i knew him.
I just finished watching the Devil and Daniel Johnston and i didn't get to see the last 5 minutes of it properly because the tears in my eyes hazed up my vision.

His music and his life story can make me laugh out loud and at other times make me burst into tears,
this is so strange for me because i used to consider myself a very unemotional person. I  used to be very unemotional because i convinced myself that that when we die and life wasn't worth anything so i isolated my self from the world and all its emotional attachments. But since discovering Daniel just under a year ago, i have learned to love life again and see the beauty and the pain in the world and this makes me feel alive.
I am eternally gratefull to Daniel Johnston
