General Discussion / Fan Forums / Re: Really annoying gaps between reissues of lo-fi cassettes

Just downloaded 'Merry Christmas' - a tape I've been wanting to hear since I became a fan 8 years ago - via eMusic and guess what! It's been ripped from a CD with ****ing annoying 2 second gaps between every track, even though Daniel's tapes play continuously! Great!
To whoever is manufacturing the early tape CD-Rs:
GET YOURSELF SOME CD BURNING SOFTWARE THAT ELIMINATES ADDING 2 SECOND GAPS BETWEEN TRACKS. IT'S RUINING THE ALBUMS WE'RE PAYING FOR.
As for whoever put out 'The Early Recordings' - a full, glass-cut CD, presumably mastered properly - what's your excuse? Dualtone?

Daniel's own father fought in WWII and is understood to have reprimanded him over the 'joke' (see article linked about). His unpleasant 'Ratzoid' character seems too surreal and stupid to indicate any serious Nazi sympathies on Daniel's part, but...
Why, Daniel, why?
I hate to sound so predictable, but surely this isn't just another case of his new-found fame taking over his mental state, again?
Also, there seems to be some creep repeatedly recounting the joke on Wikipedia to fulfill his own sense of otherwise non-existent righteousness. It's a person who clearly had no real insider knowledge about Dnaiel. The c***t. Delete it if you care to - I will where I find the time.
And if you're reading this - **** you.

Anyone got any thoughts? I'm worried that the comments could blight Daniel's reputation. Daniel has never come across as a hateful person, but where is he coming from with this joke? I don't believe for a second he can be a racist, but it's a confusing comment and there will be those who are quick to condemn for their own sense of righteousness.

Yes indeed, he played the now-defunct Glasgow venue Stereo in 2003. It was a very memorable show for me. I didn't actually get to meet Daniel but me and a friend walked into the venue too early, only to find the man him self leaning against one of the barriers. I was a bit too stunned to think of what to do and was quickly moved outside by staff. To be honest, I doubt I would have approached him - he didn't look like he was in the mood for me jabbering out rubbish about how 'The What Of Whom' is my favourite.

My chord organ is at my parents house so I haven't played it in a while, but I wrote a great song called 'Summer Tweed' on it a few years ago, which I think we're going to put out at a single. I've got 'Hi, How Are You?' written on the keys, which always helps.

Elvis Costello is known to be a big influence, most notably on 'Man Obsessed', 'Heart Mind & Soul' and of course 'Premartial Sex', whose outro is virtually identical to the organ riff on 'Clowntime Is Over', from 'Get Happy!!'.
