There are LOADS LOADS LOADS.... but my absolute favourites apart from Dan are;

The mountain goats, Sebadoh, Sentridoh, Scout Niblett, Melt Banana, Deerhoof, Sparlehorse and Danielson.

Fab topic, will be looking out for music I haven't heard of before. Dans fans seem to have excellent taste-of course!

It now lists Indian summer at Glasgows Victoria park, as well as the Union chapel in london, on the tour dates.
Shall we go, shall we?  huh

Yeah, lets go!  grin

As above, it was a totally amzing gig. The first song Daniel did was Mean girls give pleasure. He also did an amazing 2nd song but I'm not sure of the name of it... although I think i've heard it before. The chorus goes 'Hold on Mama, crying to yourself' and then something about tomorrow?! I'm sure someone can help but i'll have a good time going through old records in the mean time  grin.

I just can't put into words how magical it all was for me. I also went to ATP where he was scheduled to do an half hour set on friday but also did two further half hour sets on Saturday and Sunday, as well as performing Speeding motorcycle with Yo La Tengo! PHEW what a weekend and I've still not had enough of him.
I also saw Daniel at the Barbican last year and at Newcastle the year before that but as Zampano says- last night was the best I've seen him perform. All in all I just can't stop smiling, i don't even know what I'm smiling at anymore-maybe I'm dazed!

Why Me- it's mind blowing, and no matter how many times i've lstened to it, I can still do it all over again and again and again!

And after that- Fun!
5  General Discussion / Fan Forums / Re: Where is the London date on May 19th? on: April 19, 2007, 01:50:25 PM
As above, ATP is gonna be amazing. I just can't believe my luck- I already had tickets for ATP before Daniel was anounced AND I live near Manchester.  grin

ATP shows Daniel playing in May and the tour lists somerset UK (where ATP is this year) as 18th may, so I guess he'll be playing ATP first then doing a show in london the following day on 19th May.
Not long to go until ATP!
 grin

Thankyou, thankyou thankyou Dan!   shocked

ATP VS the Fans 2007 has Daniel at number 14.

So if you fancy seeing Sparklehorse among others, book your tickets and vote for Dan now.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed he would do it if asked.

I had to stop after being woken up every night by screams of "SATAN!" I think that part is about 12 times louder than anything else on the CD...

:lol:So know that feeling, except my loud satan moment always seemed to happen when the gas man and/or a neighbour was at the door, leading them to believe I'm some kind of Devil worshipper- well maybe not.

Thanks Gina, its reassuring to know Dan had a good time in London and is now home safe and well.  smiley

Yeah great album and the artwork is excellent. nice to know Ron English still got to contribute.
Frito-Lay is a great song. However, and this this may sound a stupid question but I'm going to ask it anyway, what is/are Frit O'lay???

Thanks Haint, that's a great stab at the setlist. I couldn't remember nearly as much.
I thought the night was amazing with Vic Chesnutt and Jason Pierce coming across as so genuine in their passion and respect for the great man.
Howe Gelbs Classico was great and I love Giant Sand but why did he insist of saying Daniel Johnson, It kinda grated after a while- maybe it's me being cynical but he just didn't seem as passionate as the other performers.
It was great to see Daniel, his performance being both magical and emotional, and will stay with me forever.
So why did I go back to my hotel feeling slightly down? It wasn't because he only did four songs or that the show was disappointing in any way.
I've been thinking about it and I think I feel guilty, ('lonely song' was playing over in my head the next day) Daniel looked so nervous and I guess I had read a few posts on here about him not wanting to go to london and hating traveling. I know his performances are rushed and he suffers from nerves but he seemed much more together when I saw him in Newcastle last year.
Maybe I'm reading too much into things and I really hope so, I guess I don't know the man like some of you- so maybe someone can reassure me.
Daniel Johnston can do little wrong in my eyes and I really appreciate that he came to London, but I just hope it wasn't detrimental to his health or recovery in any way. I would rather he was happy doing art and music in his own surroundings than possibly made to travel/ do shows for my/our benefit.
That said it was still an amazing evening, thanks to all involved, and all the happiness for the future to Daniel and his family.

James Yorkston as well! I've seen him a few times and he's been great every time. It's gonna be excellent.

Got my tickets today after sending back the ones for March and the new date on the tickets is 14th April so hopefully thats the correct date.
Unfortunatley, the documentary showing on the same day also at the Barbican is sold out and I have been waiting quite a while (ages) to see it.
Anyway getting to the point- the guy at the Barbican said if they get enough enquiries about the film they might move it to the bigger cinema they have there.
So..... If you also want to see the film and haven't got tickets, please please ring up to harass, sorry enquire if there's any tickets left.
Meanwhile if anyone knows of any showings before this date- especially in the Manchester area please let me know and I will be eternally gratefull.
