I don't want to talk of myself, but I had a really great week. I received my signed Space Ducks monday, and saturday I was at Nantes (France) and saw an exposition of Daniel's art in the after noon, and in the evening, I saw Jad Fair and Daniel Johnston on stage. Jad Fair was really, really good with his bizarre guitar, and of course Daniel is unique.
I love the comic book. It's a fantastic immersion into Daniel's drawings.

He was a fan of Daniel Johnston (one of the "veteran members" in the fan list), covered several of his songs and wrote himself at least 2000 songs.

I just have Merry Christmas from Yip Eye Tunes, but there is also some songs that cut off abruptly (like "Fool on the hill"). But I think some mistakes are always possibles : on my copy of Retired Boxer and Respect (from the CDR archives), there is a "bonus" track with no sound...

Apparently, registration is "currently disabled" since a long time.  This won't help this board to coming back to life.

I think it must be very difficult to have all your life and problems on the screen, visible by everyone, especially in our days. Maybe Daniel feels trapped.

I read that Philippe Katerine (french exentric musician) had taken the idea of the cover of his last album from the famous old photo of Daniel with his parents. In addition, in the song "Morts-vivants" (living dead), he quotes DJ, among others artists. Some are described as "pas mort" (not dead), or "vivant" (living, and actually dead). Some like DJ or Sofia Coppola are "not dead", and some are "living", like Syd Barrett. I think it's a sort of weird tribute.

I received The story of an artist today. Really beautiful object. And the sound is far better than on the Archives CDR. I wasn't sure to buy it, because I had already those recordings, but the comments on this forum decided me. Thanks !
