Hi -

I had not yet received the Lennon pic print as of yesterday, so checked into it - seems the company in England never processed the order, altho they sent me an e-mail saying they were doing so...

I just sent them the following, to try to get 'our gift' for Dan...

From:   "Gina"  View Contact Details   Add Mobile Alert
Subject:   URGENT: Order status check
To:   webshop@showcaseeditions.com

TO: Mr David Battrick, Director
Showcase Editions Ltd

URGENT:

PLEASE Re-VERIFY the following web order:

The order has not arrived in the time expected, so I
have checked my credit statements on-line, and since I
do not see a charge for it on any of my credit cards,
I am assuming that your company has somehow
'misplaced' my order???

PLEASE KNOW... This item was ordered from your web
site for a musician-songwriter/artist, as a SPECIAL
present from some of his on-line fans -

I am now hoping that you can send it on it's  way
ASAP, since we still need to frame it before the
presentation date... We had hoped to receive it and to
have it professionally framed by March 7th, when I
will be traveling from California to Texas, to make
the presentation in person.

Below is the info you provided me, via e-mail, on
February 6th -

Since I had not heard from you again since then, I
(unfortunately) assumed that the order was being
processed, as stated in your e-mail to me, and that it
would arrive within 10 business days, as explained on
your site (for international orders).

If you need my credit card information again, please
let me know. I am willing to pay for an expedited
shipment, if possible, but would prefer/hope that your
company do so...

Disappointed, and now hoping you can 'pick up the
ball,'

Mary Regina Reynolds

Hi, Dave!

THANK YOU for looking into this personally. I have
sent the money via PayPal, as requested - via direct
transfer from my bank account listed with them.

The fans will be excited to learn that 'our main
house-warming gift' for our beloved Daniel Johnston is
on it's way to the USA!

Sincerely,
"Gina" Reynolds

It has arrived! Yippee!

I brought it straight to the local framing shop - the guy there helped me pick out two great mats and a beautiful frame - can't wait to take pics to share -

It will be too large to carry on board, so I think I will either mail it to myself (at the hotel I'll be at) or I may ask Dick (Dan's bro) or Drew (Dan's nephew) to receive it for me -

It's going to look FAN-tastic!

Framing came to $220, & with special shipping, we are maxed out.

Anyway...I am SO happy to have received it and gotten it straight to a professional framer.

Thanks Gina...sounds wonderful. I am sure Daniel will find a perfect place for it. And thanks too for having it professionally framed. If it is being shipped with glass, that may be a concern. If it is plex, no worries. I'm sure the frame shop person took care of that.

I got something exciting planned for the Wilmington/Phila premier of the movie...will post details soon as everything becomes "official." But a heads up to those within 100 miles of Philadelphia (Baltimore, D.C., Phila, etc):

It looks like the Wilmington Theater N showing of the Devil and Daniel Johnston will be the ONLY venue (at this time) to catch it! So mark May 19th on your calenders and plan a day trip to our fair city (seconds off 95) for a truly special Daniel Fest!!!

Hi Henry!

Yep - the pro said it had to be framed with PLEXI wink He is also not mounting it, only 'hinging it,' to preserve it's potential value -

Sounds like your "Daniel Fest" plans will be lots of fun!

Gina,
Thanks so much for putting all this effort into making this a special deal for Daniel! Is the time to donate a little more money over? It was Christmas time so I was only able to donate a very small sum. I f a little money is needed for taxes or what not let me know! I already have a few suprises in store for him to watch on his new t.v.!

He said he was gonna have a designated smoking area in his new digs which I think is great! When I visit him my wife is constantly going behind him and putting out his half snuffed smokes!

Seems like its gonna be a great story after all!

I'll be OK with the remaining costs, Will - thanks for asking, though.
And, thanks for the kind words of appreciation.
This effort to get something 'special' for Dan for his new home on behalf of the fan-forum has been a little bumpy, but well-worth it!

The signed print is going to look beautiful in Dan's house - the guy who helped me pick out the mats and frame has been in the framing biz a lng time and had good ideas right off the bat - mainly, to keep it masculine and neutral (in other words, no aqua mat...as I had had in mind)...He also reversed my idea to have the lighter colored mat on the inside...looked much better his way! But, his first choice of a frame was not something I thought complimented the print (distracted from it), and he agreed. His next pick was pur-fect, though!

It certainly was the most fun I have ever had at a frame shop - and he thoroughly enjoyed hearing that is was a housewarming present 'for a singer/song-writer/artist, just like Lennon was.'

Hope that you'll get to see our gift hanging up in Dan's house during your next visit!

Gina

Howdy, fellow fans!

I'm very excited!

I just got back from the frame shop - I went in to write our congrats message to Dan on the top mat - it looks good! It will be ready for pick-up tomorrow afternoon!

REALLY looking forward to seeing Dan's face when he opens it...and looking forward to taking pics to share, too! -

Hi, All -

Arrived back from my Texas trip a few hours ago -

Dan LOVED the gifts!, especially the Lennon photo signed print!
I took pics -  and will try to post them soon -

Also, it was Dan's idea to draw each of you 'a little drawing' in ink on the front of your 'thank you' note...
I didn't even have to ask!
FYI, everyone's pic is unique.

Thanks, again, for having chipped in on something special that Dan will enjoy 'forever'   -

We recieved our thank you note yesterday and it was super neat.

The photos are cute, Daniel looks great. He must have lost 50 pounds!

Thanks for the delivery Gina. We still have that turntable sitting around here so whenever Daniel wants it it's his. We've actually got a couple he can choose from now.
