Gina that would be a sweet deal for Daniel! As ****ty as the world is going right now and the news on T.V, being a total and complete downer...it does the mind and soul good to see Dan all spiffy in a nice clean shirt with Ma and Pa Johnston in front of his new digs!

I have yet to see the movie but one thing I noticed in most reviews is that it says it is a story of depression,sadness,triumph and the most important and constant word I see in all reviews is LOVE! It is apparent from all aspects Daniel is deeply loved by his family and fans! To see them standing there and know all the trials and tribulations they have gone threw everyone...Dick,Jeff T, Ma and Pa Johnston is almost overwhelming! Like I said it Does the heart and soul good.

I onced skirted around  the question if he was aware of how much his fans loved him and were so fiercely protective of him and only wanted to see good happen to him...he almost seemed perplexed and he lauged and said "Yeah I have met all five of my fans" the look on his faced kinda turned into a knowing look...like he knew! I did not want to press the question any more but I wanted him to know what he meant to me and I blurted out "Daniel you are my Bob Dylan" and he kinda of looked at me and said "I guess thats cool to be considered as great as Bob Dylan...I always thought I was a goof!"

Who has not heard a Dylan song and felt that feeling that you only get when you hear Dylans voice...almost like a awakening...like he was singing that song only for you...years later after hearing "Freewheelin Bob Dylan" "Blonde on Blonde"etc countless times they still amaze me. The same way Daniel does as a person and musician!

You are way cool, brother. Although we've not chatted in awhile, you've been in my thoughts. A note about the "news" (i.e. shareholder's entertainment) and the TV...break off the ON button, buddy. That **** WILL mess you up worse than cheap rock.

Love what you have to say about The Great Zimmy. Have you checked out "No Direction Home?" A-Mazing. Soundtrack that is. I will be getting the DVD of the film in a few days. GREAT! File under "authentic," "honest" "art." (Hmmm, who else do we know under that file?)

As for the Surprise party...I am saving all available funds (selling off my extensive record collection...just unloaded all my Beatles, Dylan, Lou Reed...still have all the Zappas!) for my wedding in January and for the collapse of the U.S. economy following this winter flu season, (buy gold!!!) so travelling to Texas is not an option. But I CAN contribute to a housewarming present. I don't know...how about a marble Jack Kirby bust for the foyer? A special built-in humidor just for his various brands of bulk cigarettes? Maybe a huge freezer of chinese take-out? (I keeed, I keeed...)

I guess the kegs and strippers better get back in the van. Just to think I spent all that time making 2000 flyers with nifty directions on it to Daniels house! All that time talking the Black Metal house band "Virgins Corpse" to drop the song "Couldnt You Have Just Aimed At Yoko" from thier setlist was in vain! Not really sure what Daniel thinks of his fans but lets just hope he dont think we are as stupid and deranged as some of his associates think...So much for any enthusiasim....Keep me updated Henry....I'm out!

Ok, I don't post much, but this thread was too much for me ignore.
I was with Daniel recently, and heard from his mouth that he does not want people to know where he lives, and that he enjoys his privacy. I know that all of us fans would love to hang out at his house, and the suggestion of the party was well-meaning, but we need to think of A) Is this something Daniel would really want? According to him, no, it isn't.  B) Most fans don't get a chance to visit their idol's house...just because some of us know where Daniel lives doesn't give us the right to invade his privacy. Daniel told me himself that he likes living in the country, away from everyone, and doesn't want attention...I think we need to respect this.

Also, Jeff did not mean to offend anyone... I think that any of the fans on this board that have half a brain (which eliminates Jordy) realize that Jeff has Daniel's best interests at heart, and does not think that anyone here is "stupid and deranged"...in fact, he has very high respects for his fans...

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade...I just know what Daniel himself told me, just a couple of weeks ago. We all love Daniel, and we have to put his wishes before our own...

Been away from my 'puter...FINALLY healed up enuf to actually have some FUN!...in the real world, that is...

I love that the major players here have replied to this post.
I intended to get feedback...and certainly would never proceed with a 'surprise party' for Dan unless his family, and biggest fans, thought it was a good idea...

PLUS, I didn't intend to make it 'an open invitation' to just any ole fan...sorry, newbies...I see now that posting about it on here was not wise, but I am impulsive about fun ideas...especially the idea of contributing to Dan's happiness...

OK...so - no 'surprise parties' at HIS house.

BUT, there WILL be a housewarming gift from his on-line fans...and I WANT, very much, to co-ordinate it.

I can collect funds...once we all agree on how much from each person is reasonable and then, I suppose, after we feel that all of those wanting to contribute have done so, we can decide, via a vote thread, on here, what exactly to get him...

How's that all sound?

I have a PayPal account - only used lately to purchase (from various sources) the 35 original DJ drawings I now proudly own, but I imagine that I can use it to collect funds for the gift? - I will happily pay the fee I'd be charged for receiving the money...

It entails a transfer of funds -
I can imagine doing it that way, and by also taking money orders/checks, via my PO box...

We can start a tally thread...
Those who contribute can state that they did, add a personal message for Dan, to be included with  the gift, and also add the transaction number/check #, as proof of their payment...and if I encounter any problems with payments, I can contact individuals privately.

Does that sound feasible, my friends?

OK...now I want to add a few personal, yet public, replies:

Jeff, T - VERY good that you mentioned the privacy thing. And, of course, no unknown to Dan fans would have been invited....but, I see how my post seemed as if it could be non-secure for Dan...MY BAD FAUX PAS for posting about it on here....
but, at least now the idea of a joint fan group house-warming gift is going

Anyway, I do not see anything in your post to criticize, Jeff and, THANKS for expressing enthusiasm for my kind thoughts privately, man...Glad to see that you know me, and you know I have nothing but good intent when it comes to Dan. ...and also glad to see that you open yourself up to 'raining on the parade' type stuff if you focus only on the negatives in posting...

Jaimi - Love ya! Thanks, also, for your post, and for sharing what Dan told you. I will see him next month, but will not bring this up...even though Jeff said it's best to ask Dan...I, honestly, see Jeff's point about it all, and I do not want to 'pressure' Dan in any way about a party...

Obviously, if he ever wants to have a party at HIS house, I feel very confidant that he will, and he will be in charge of who and when...

It’s more then obvious you are friends with the Stress couple. In your post about personal insults you over look JMM’s rude comment aimed at me. It’s OK, I understand taking your friends back.

More disturbing to me is when did you become the internet police? You have the right to make the judgment call about what should be posted and what’s to be pulled down? This is censorship. The whole idea of censorship is a bad one. It would pain me to see you take a stand for something so awful.

I have the right to make the statement that JMM can’t control herself (she has proven this with posts and the fact she lashed out in public attacking me in a physical way).

Or

Jeff T is an ugly troll who has been ripping off Daniel for his entire career (both facts).

I would hate to see these comments be pulled down because:

1) They’re true.
2) I have the right to it.

Keep in mind Gina, the internet in a way is a lot like your TV. If you don’t like what you’re watching, you can always get up and change the channel.

I am making this post with no hard feeling towards you Gina, nor am I trying to start a problem with you. This board has a very long history. My history with Jeff T goes back even more so. As always, I am more then willing to go in to detail. But, I will do this in my own way and my own time.
