This was a lot of fun to cover. The way I did it has a real country flair to it. Hope you like it.

very nice dill, I think it would sound better if it was slowed down a bit.

Neat...

I'd quiet down the back-beat a bit (not sure what to call 'that'...)...and I'd try a slower version, as Lonely suggested...not much slower, though, or you'd lose the 'fun' tone you created... I actually like the juxtaposition (sp?) you created between the lyrics - 'sadness' of living one's borken dreams -  and an 'up' beat - so, I'd keep it somewhat swift...just a tad bit slower...

Thanks for sharing that, Dill!

Thanks! I've been playing off and on for 10 years now. I appreciate the comments!

Do you mean the pitch (the key its played in) or the tempo? I could post a slower version done either way or both ways. I'm curious to understand your ideas.

I love to share things that are inspiring and that song is pure inspiration in my minds eye. I already did a remix where I brought some things out (acoustic guitars) and pushed some back (the beat). As soon as I figure out the idea to slow it down I can do that digitally as well. Thanks so much for the feedback!

I like your Broken Dreams cover. I have never seen Daniel live. Even though I've tried. He's in town and I'm gone or something. I'm intrigued by him and his music and am still a novice in the world of Daniel Johnston. Becoming a follower and would like information about the best music to start on as a beginner. I did know Townes Van Zandt and I read on here that Townes opened for him at a SXSW show. I would say they shared the same bill. Both genuises. I recently bought a great 2 cd set. daniel covers and then daniel on the 2nd one. it skipped ,so Itook it back to Cactus and they didn't have any others to replace it. or anything else period.
i heard of the early tapes. where can one purchase those? thanks, Jet

The tapes can be purchased from Stress Records and/or The Museum of Love.

I would love to hear your voice doing a version of "pothead"
or "etiquette"

etiquette sounds like it would be hard to cover with all of the spoken word stuff. maybe pothead tho..
