hey guys. I know you're all probably gonna kick my ass for asking this question seeing as you're all die-hard fans...but im gonna go ahead and ask it anyway.

Did this daniel johnston have a song on the soundtrack for "My-So Called Life"? Its a really old tv show. The song is called "Come See Me Tonight".

If so,what album is it on because he sounds good and I'd like to hear some more of his stuff.

Thanks!

p.s. I apologize for not also loving your beloved daniel!  Cheesy

Yes he does have a song on that soundtrack.  My guess is it would be on the "My So Called Life" soundtrack album.   Tongue

"Come See Me Tonight" was recorded for, but left off, the "Fun" album and only was released on the "My So Called Life" compilation CD and the "Happy Time" vinyl EP. I've often wondered if the Atlantic Records people (in other words, Yves) thought it wasn't good enough for the album, of whether he thought it was TOO good and saved it for the soundtrack project. Bad idea, either way, really...

It makes a great companion track to the Modern Lovers' "Astral Plane" if you're making a mix disc/tape, by the way!

I'd stalk him, but he lives too far out of town...

Oh, I asked at SXSW for any additional news about his appearance there this year, but didn't really hear much new info (actually none) - it's still kinda early for them to have many details. I did hear that Gibby Haynes' scenes for the upcoming movie were shot while he was at the dentist getting his teeth drilled!

The folks in the music department say they haven't actually seen the film, but rumor has it that the film department has a video copy - I must endeavor to sneek a peek - at least at *my* scenes!!!

Oh, by the way, I put a couple of odd Dan items up on Ebay, so check 'em out. It's some pages I found that he had written in an old notebook of mine and that had fallen out. I'll be putting more stuff up over the next few weeks or so, cuz I need money!
