Hi!, How are you everyone? Cheesy (i know, it is such a used expression) cheesy

My question is:

Does anyone know if there be something like an online version or something such of those 150 pieces of art for sale? huh
I could want some art but i am not sure yet if i will get the CD at all(don´t really like covers).

I think it would be great if i(and everybody else) could check out that art offered and act on october 1.st when the art will be for sale without having to buy the CD just yet.
What do you think? rolleyes

I think what you are talking about is the 150 artworks which will be available thru an address or web link or something in the packaging of the Discovered/Covered CD release (20 DAYS AWAY AND COUNTING!!!) through Gammon. I've e-mailed Jordy...awaiting a reply. For now, you can simply read what I just told you here:

http://www.hihowareyou.com/

The buzz has been...quiet.

Let's GO!!! Bring on that ORGAN MUSIC!

That´s right Henry!

What i meant was do i have to purchase the CD in order to view the digital gallery of the artworks being offered for sale(in October 1) or can i view them somewhere on the web?

Mr. Long, sorry to say I never received your e-mail.  Did you send it to Jordy@gammonrecords.com? Please feel free to e-mail me again.

The press has already started to jump all over Discovered Uncovered.  So far five articles have come out with a TON on the way (USA, Europe and Japan). I’ll talk with Dick to see if there is a way to post the press when we get it in case you guys want to read it all.  Even more good news, last week I got the word that we have a lock on NPR’s “all things considered”!

One of the secrets upon release was, yes, the 2nd CD is also a CDrom.  It has a new Daniel video, lyrics to all the songs on the album (as well as the unreleased new song from Daniel “Rock This Town”) and 156 drawings you can click through and see (in a digital slide show).  If you find a drawing you’re in love with all you need to do is click then purchase and it can be yours (if you are one first people to get there to buy it).  These drawings are only for people who have bought the CD.

The last of the good news is there is a chance iTunes will pre release the double CD the week after next.  This is great for the people who want nothing but the music and not the package (or just can't wait and want both). I’ll keep all of you posted on this.

I was blown away last week when the promo copies came in. I couldn’t be happier.  The Liner notes are hot (it’s a 10 page little book) and being an 8 panel digi pack it’s nice to watch the package fold out in your hands.

Have a great long weekend!!!!

Hey Jordy that's all great but why don't you take just a little bit of that energy you're using on that porn site you run and spend a few minutes updating the Gammon Records site? When I click on the "Daniel Johnston tribute album" link it takes me to a link that's obviously over a year old. There's actually very little news about the tribute on your site and yet that other site of yours appears to be updated all the time. What gives?

So the art is only avaliable to those who buy the CD?

 angry !!!What a rip-off!!! angry

...smells like money...
(and there is obviously alot of money in the porn industry too)

keep your CD, i will rip it of the net anyway and keep on distributing it for free - i just wanted to contribute with buying the art.

Is this a presidential campaign here?   Are we "mud slinging"?   If so, what do you hope to win, because there's no upcoming elections HERE?

So what do you hope to gain?  What do you hope to gain?

ALL the proceeds from the art go directly to Daniel and no where else.

Daniel benefits from the sale of EVERY CD, and the art was selected for those who buy this CD.

If you want to CHEAT DANIEL for the animalistic gratification of "cheating Gammon" you can probably accomplish that.  But don't brag about it here and don't brag about it to Daniel!

Yeah - download that album and rob Daniel there too!  You've probably done worse things, right?  "Big Monkey Business", huh, monkeyman?

You can cheat at life and you can cheat Daneil!  But to brag about that here?   It doesn't make sense.  Why twist this around into some self-serving distortion that serves no purpose but to pick bones with people that you are jealous of?

Jeff, you and your web site are mentioned in the liner notes.  Gammon did that on their own.

Did Gammon make a mistake, or are YOU making a(nother) mistake?

Confessions lines are now open to callers!  Operators standing by!!

Jeff, this is very true.  I did have Stress and your website included in the liner notes and I didn’t have to. What can I say other then hind sight is 20 / 20.  You must have better things to do with your free time then always trying to attack me?  Now it's kind of like a bad joke with the same punch line you tell over and over and over and over again.

Monkeyman - I can't say I see anything wrong with this as I'm sure Daniel will receive most if not all of the money gained from art sales.  There's still a fair amount of new art available on the web these days on at least three web sites that I'm aware of.  My problem has more to do with the half-assed way Gammon does things. It brings me no pleasure to cause them any trouble and in fact I'd like to help - I just never have understood why someone who spends so much time on the net let's his web site get so out of date.

Dejected - the post I just made was prior to reading your most recent. One thing I want to make absolutely clear is that I encourage EVERYONE to go out and BUY (or order through iTunes or whatever their preferred method is) this upcoming tribute as well as any other Daniel Johnston releases past, present and future.  Bootlegging cheats the artist and in Daniel's case that's not good.

Jordy - no personal attack intended. I merely read your update, got enthusiastic, went to the Gammon site, clicked on the link and immediately lost enthusiasm until I could get the frustration out of my system.. A (somewhat) similar tribute album came out this summer for another Austin artist - Alejandro Escovedo - and Or Records did such a great job building a buzz that I find myself very concerned about Daniel's tribute falling through the cracks. I'll be updating my site tonight to plug this release as best I can.  I should have done this before I complained about your site but then I'm not the one putting it out. Anyway back to my original point - everyone PLEASE buy this album.

NOTE: As bad as it still is, this posting has been edited.   I can't leave that much blood laying on the floor over night

NOTE: Second round of edits.  This site needs to be "safe for children".

I agree with the assertions (and even reprimands) that this full post doesn't need to stay here.   I haven't heard from Jeff, but this is being further edited for his sake! - dejected

....
In what case would it be good?     In other words, there are situations where it is "warranted", "deserved", and even "good" to steal?
...
I have stopped all other work to deal with the "buzz" that has been created SO FAR - because there may not be another SO GREAT a window  off opportunity for Daniel.   And ALL OF THIS is because of Jordy Tractenberg.
...
And for the 1000 hours I've put in on Daniel in the last year, it doesn't hold a candle to what Jordy Trachtenberg has done in the last MONTH let alone last three years!
...
Jordy is doing his job, and his job is NOT to update web sites.   We are choosing our priorities and choosing them WELL.

Wait wait wait...back up there a minute....

Porn Site? What? No LINK? Jeez. Talk about feeling cheated!

Seriously Friends of the Fan Forum (FFF), buy the ****ing CD! A double CD with all the lyrics and all that art PLUS a brand new song? With one click on www.rejectedunknown.com you can pre-order it and have it sent to your door the day of release for under 20 bucks!

Who'd want to download it anyway, really? Isn't there something to be said for the ART of the thing, packaging included? Personally, I wish is was also being released on vinyl as a double record. I'd get that too.

What's the deciding factor here? You wanna coupon for a free ice cream cone at Baskin Robbins too?

Anyway, I'll be spreading the word in my neck of the woods.
Jordy, I e-mailed you last night about that. I think I got your address correct this time. Thanks.

Now...about that porn site....                rolleyes
