According to the new Marvel Comics mini-series "Captain America Reborn"*, it looks as if Steve Rogers is indeed not dead, but is rather "unstuck in time" ("LOST" fans should know what that means!) This is just as Daniel predicted months ago!
As if that weren't enough, Dan compared the current storyline with one from the early 1970s "Steranko Era", and guess what? I've already seen a comics critic let loose a "spoiler" indicating that the Steranko story in question is liable to tie into the events of the ongoing plotline!!!
Anyone who thinks Dan isn't at the top of his game needs to reevaluate their hypotheses immediately!!!

PS: Coincidentlally enuff, I've just thought of a great short film for Dan in which he is also -- to a certain extent -- stuck in time! I can say no more. Hail KAILI!!!
*(Caveat - I've only read issue #2 of 5)

They laughed when I sat down at the piano.
They didn't think that I could play.
But their laughter turned to amazement,
When I got back up and carried it away...
