Hello folks,
I'm just wondering, do any people here have an Amie Street account? I noticed that Daniel has an account on there with the Songs of Pain compilation at
http://amiestreet.com/artist/13771.
I tried to set one up last year. However it went a bit wobbly, so I gave up. But now they have fixed it, so I am going to slowly start stick my own muzak up thar at
http://amiestreet.com/robertwheeler.
For those who do not know or are unaware, Amie Street is a site where jobbers such as I can upload their music and earn money for it on a sliding scale depending on it's popularity. Music starts off free to buy, but the more a song or album is downloaded or recommended the more money it is valued at to buy, and the more royalties you get. It also has a spoken word category so (*attn Henry!*) it would be ideal for poetry readings too...
It seems to have got a little more commercial of late, with established acts and even back catalogs being featured on the site. Still, if you have a decent little fanbase, I think it may worth pursuing to bring in a little income without the hassle of copying discs etc. You don't have to do much fiddling about to get it working, and it doesn't cost anything to set up.
Cheers,
Rob Wheeler
