New "Don't Be Scared" Album Art - we want your thoughts!

We are about to mass order the Don't Be Scared CD and we're thinking about this new album art for the cover:



It's made by Daniel obviously and the new CD order will include a booklet with information. I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts/suggestions are.

I love it!  Is that an old alternate version of the cover or a new drawing?
Is this another High Wire release?

How will it be different from the other original "Don't Be Scared"
(such as bonus tracks, alternative versions, etc.)?

"489" is likely a catalogue # for a cheap dvd that Daniel was wanting to purchase. For the record, a number of the more recent pieces of Daniel's artwork contain these seemingly cryptic number sequences. They're just films Daniel wants to mail-order.

I'm nailing down all the details about the artwork.

In terms of what will be on the CD, I didn't have any plans to change anything. Doing so seems to have rubbed some people the wrong way before.

I would like to include extras if you would like them. Let me know what you'd like to see in it!

Extras as in additional songs or extras as in packaging (drawings, lyrics, etc.)? I'd vote for "Don't Be Scared" as originally recorded, and perhaps a few alternative or live takes as bonus tracks, if available. Will the very unusual "Something More" be included, like on the 2005 CD "archive" release?

I'd also like to see something about the context of Daniel's recording of "Don't Be Scared." Where was he in July of '82? What was going on in his life? How was he doing?

The Early Recordings Vol.1. In fact it looks like it was made just for that

Could the 489 possibly be coming out of his head with his inner thought(s) on the shirt instead? Possibly the cat or duck or both could be serving platters of brains; one of a brain and one of a heart?

Just a thought or three while under the influence of legals.


Also who's doing the prints? My buddy Satch kicks some major booty here in Austin.
