Daniel is singing in the back seat of a cab,
someone is playing a might fine guitar and someone else is taping.

It's sweet.

The guitarist is Brett Hartenbach, Daniel's friend from way back. Brett was one of the first guys who used to play a bit of guitar with him. He has recorded and produced Daniel, and he will be featuring on several tracks from the proposed forthcoming "Live at the Union Chapel" DVD.

And on top of all that, he gives the impression of being a thoroughly nice, softly spoken chap. Daniel clearly feels really comfortable playing with him.

So three cheers for Brett Hartenbach!

Brett Hartenbach was wonderful. Thanks for the information.
I'm happy to hear he will be showing up on the "Live at the Union Chapel" DVD.

BTW I did e-mail you about the DVD.
...can't wait for it to be finished.

THAT was amazing. Enough so that I wish he'd make a 1-take Black Cab Sessions Album.
It's rare to hear him so relaxed and in such synch with another musician.

Those cabs really are roomy!

That was nice! It's great to see Daniel these days - he seems genuinely happy.

Rob..! Any chance of using that as a bonus cut on the DVD? smiley

Hi Doug,

It might be nice, but that was shot by a third party. And to be honest, Just So did a good job, but I don't think it would quite fit in with what we have in mind...

We don't shoot in taxis, we want our sound to be perfect at all times...

And if the DVD does happen, I expect there will be musical bonus features. We have the footage for it...

Bonus footage? I'm imagining Dan feeding the birds in Hyde Park while singing "Scattered Like Birds."

Actually, everything we have with Daniel is inside the building. We didn't want to go early doors with Daniel and risk affecting his concentration for the show. So although there was opportunity for us to get a lot more footage with him talking, we set our aim on getting the best possible concert footage, and on top of that got a lovely interview afterwards.

Maybe next time we can stretch it out a bit Smiley

But we also have enough extra for a very attractive bonus feature or two...
